Just War Theory

Thw just war theory was presented by Augustine. He believed that wae was a sin so in order for it to be not a sin it would have to be just. He thought the only way to say that a war was just was if it was for peace. He put many requirements on the just war so that they could have it. It had to be the very last resort, initiated by the government or highter power, it would need a chance of success, be for the right intentions, do not attack civilians, etc. Audustine just war theory made it ok for the government to have a war.

St. Thomas Aquinas Five ways

First Way: The Argument from Motion
Second Way:
Causation of Existence

Third Way:
Contingent and Necessary Objects

Fourth Way:
The Argument from Degrees and Perfection

Fifth Way:
The Argument from Intelligent Design
My favorite way is the first way, the argument for motion the reason for this is because I believe it to be wrong, the one thing it says is nothing can move itself, personally I do not believe this to be true because I can move myself and do what I want, this contradicts what he says that is why this one is interesting.

Fallcy of Adolf Hitler

In the speech made by hitler we saw many fallacies. One in particular caught my eye, it said "Segregation of all living things on earth is natural." This fallacy is called a false analogy. Of course all things are made to work together and intertwine. Hitler is idiot. Everything is made to connect not seperate. This is definitely a false analogy because it is totally wrong. All living things are made to work together.

Galileo's Daughter

His daughter took care of him, she took care of his financials, health, books. She became his editor by preparing his writings before they went in front of the church. She took care of his medicine and food. pretty much she was a care giver to a breathing blob that could do nothing except for write amazing theories that we use and that everyone will use. But other than that he was a blob. She took care of his whole life.

Creationism And Evolutionism

One day in class Mr. Basinger told us of a teacher he had that said I will only teach evolution if I am able to  teach creation. This is a very understandable argument because if we only teach people one idea we are telling them what to believe.  The spiritual version of creationism and the scientific version of evolution both should be heard so everyone has the chance to hear both theories  so they can choose for themselves which one they want to believe.

Deductive Reasoning

Syllogism:
If Fish live in the sea
And if a shark is a fish
therefore sharks live in the sea

Modus Ponens:
If I am wearing a sweater I am Warm
I am Warm
Therefore I am wearing a sweater

Modus Tollens
If I am not wearing a sweater I am not hot
I am not hot
Therefore I am not wearing a sweater

I do not really know if I arranged all the if, thens, and therefores right and pretty much the whole arrangement
